The voices behind Nile Storywork Press.
Alfredo Riak (Wen Angok Madiany) is a South Sudanese philosopher, historian, and theologian of mixed Nubian heritage. Born during Sudan’s second civil war, he experienced displacement, statelessness, and profound hardship firsthand including his journey as a former child soldier.
These early experiences shaped his lifelong commitment to justice, reconciliation, and nation-building. Living and conducting research across multiple countries before settling in South Africa, Alfredo developed a rare cross-cultural perspective that informs every dimension of his work.
